CDI has several Software Test Engineer openings in the Austin, TX area. These are contract job openings that could lead into long term roles for the right individuals.



Skill Requirements:

. Experience with engineering process control systems.
. Must have four (4) or more years experience.
. Highly motivated, self starter, able to work independently and in interactive group environments.
. Good oral and written skills. Able to clearly and succinctly describe an issue.
. Must be detail oriented, able to work in team environment
. Some form of hands-on process instrumentation work desirable; including 4-20 mA systems.
. Foundation Fieldbus experience desirable, but not required.
. DeltaV experience desirable, but not required.
. Some overtime; most work weeks are 40 ~ 55 hours, flexible work hours.



Requirements:
B.S. Engineering or B.S. Computer Science, plus from 4 to 15 years of related experience, required.
The successful candidate's responsibilities include developing and running the test plans for the new PlantWeb System Integration team.

Specific duties include:
Building automated test systems
Developing test scripts and configurations
Running tests
Evaluating test results
Working with product development teams to resolve test findings.

Testing scope covers both software implementation and system usability. The Test Engineer will work as part of a team of experts, gaining and sharing product development knowledge and customer requirements. Applicant will work closely with the Team Lead and the Management team with an opportunity to progress into roles with more responsibilities with the Technology organization.

A minimum of 4 to 15 years of related experience with instrumentation systems required. Experience with Foundation Fieldbus, Hart, software test, or DeltaV is a plus but not required. Good oral and written skills required, with demonstrated ability to clearly and succinctly describe an issue. Ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
