Position: Software Development Manager

Based in Austin TX, the Software Development Manager will spearhead a new team to work on Absolute's SAAS web centers. The candidate will have previous experience in C#, ASP.Net, and SQL Server with real world experience in enterprise-level software. You should be a self-starting, dynamic person whose quick learning and adaptability will be crucial to your success. This role will require leadership qualities to manage workload, personnel, planning issues, provide motivation, and lead your development team through critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership to a team of software developers, direction, motivation, and coaching on day-to-day tasks. Lead by example.
- Identifying and proposing process, best tools, techniques to continually improve the working environment.
- Responsible for the functioning of a complete department, including development goals, hiring, personnel reviews, and supervision.
- Interacting and problem solving with QA and Program teams
- Execution of best practices, such as code reviews, scope, and release management.
- Understanding business requirements and translation of those into technical requirements
- Self starter, ability to work well on your own. Ability to take initiatives and work though the messaging and planning with little instruction.

Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years experience in software development
- 7+ years experience with task breakdown, project/gantt development, release planning, etc
- 4+ years experience managing a team
- 4+ years hands-on experience driving web-based development projects
- Technical background with ASP.Net, C#, SQL, and stored procedures
- Prior experience in n-tier, SaaS, and/or highly scalable application environments
- Strong object-oriented analysis, design, and application development expertise
- Experience working in a full System Development Life Cycle, executing process, and working with Agile Methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical problem solving, and decision making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Assets:
- SOAP and/or Web Service experience
- Familiarity with design patterns
- Experience converting ASP applications to ASP.Net
- Experience globalizing applications (NA to EU markets)
- Architectural background
- C/C++ experience

Education:
- Computer Science Degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience.
