As a valued member of our customer care team, the Customer Support Engineer works in a highly cooperative team environment to solve customer technical problems and answer questions. Our support engineers have wide-ranging experience and resolve complex issues in creative ways. You will work primarily with Vignette’s V6 product and as you prove your mettle, there may be opportunities to advance to working with Vignette’s V7 product down the road. Work in a team oriented environment and join a group that is high valued and respected within the company as well as their customers. While solid technical skills are important, the right candidate will possess a balance of both technical savvy as well as soft skills listed below.

Required Experience Includes:
- 5 years of related IT experience preferably supporting enterprise web based software.
- Experience in a distributed computing environment consisting of:
- Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase)
- Application Servers (Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, SunOne, Apache, IIS)
- Operating Systems (Windows, UNIX/Linux, Solaris)
Required Soft Skills Include:
- Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self Starter who takes initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer relationship and written/verbal communication skills.
Preferred Technical Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with scripting languages like TCL, ASP, JSP is helpful but not required.
- Any experience with Java/J2EE/JSP or C/C is helpful but not required.
- Experience with web development tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.
